UPDATE 03.24.2020

We have been advised by authorities of one confirmed Covid-19 case in Sealy. The family is self-quarantining and is complying with guidelines. Any potential exposure is being investigated. Our recommendations have not changed. Continue to practice good hygiene and social distancing. Stay home if you are sick. If you have symptoms, even if they are your usual allergies, flu, etc., call your doctor first. Only go to the doctor's office or hospital if directed by the doctor. We need to isolate the virus. Stay home as much as possible. Limit your exposure. Tell this to your kids if they are running around on their extended spring break. Stay calm and be safe. As the governor says, we can defeat Covid 19 in Texas.

March 23, 2020 Commissioner's Court Agenda

The greatest precaution we can all take from the Covid 19 is to stay home if you are sick. If you have symptoms, stay away from older people, especially those who have respiratory issues already. You CAN NOT get Covid 19 over the phone! Call your friends and relatives to check on them, you don't have to cut yourself off from society, but use common sense. Call Grandma and Grandpa, tell them you are ok. That will ease their mind as well. If you're sick, don't spread it around. If you have symptoms such as fever and chest pain with a cough, call your doctor. If you have Teledoc or a vitrual doctor service with your insurance, use it. Don't go to the hospital and get others sick. While the weather is nice, go outside and get some fresh air and some sun. The most important thing you can do for yourself and your family is not to panic. Even if you do contract Covid 19, most likely you will recover. Some may never know they have it. Light cases can appear similar to allergies which are rampant this time of year as well. Stay clean, wash your hands and don't put your fingers in your mouth or around your face. And if you cough, don't cough on everyone and everything! It's really no different than the precautions you should take to prevent getting the flu. Those with XM radios in their vehicles, listen to Channel 121. It's supposed to work even if your subscription isn't current. It's the Docs from NYU. They provide current and straightforward information without all the hype. We will get thru this together.
