RENEWALS
In Person - Bring one of the following:
* Renewal form & proof of insurance
*License plate number & proof of insurance
*Vehicle Identification Number & proof of insurance
By Mail - Send one of the following:
*Renewal form & proof of insurance
*License plate number & proof of insurance (CALL FOR FEES)
*VIN number & proof of insurance (CALL FOR FEES)

**Registration CAN NOT be expired in order to renew online and must have a vehicle identification number**
TITLES
The fees to transfer a title are:
$28.00 - title fee
6.25% tax on the Sales Price or the Standard Presumptive Value (whichever is higher)
$2.50 - transfer fee (if the registration is current) OR Registration fee (if not currently registered)
The following paperwork is needed to transfer a title:
* Original Title, signed by both the seller(s) and purchaser(s)
* Application for Texas Certificate of Title (Form 130-U) signed by both the seller(s) and purchaser(s)
* Proof of Insurance on the vehicle being transferred or another vehicle in the purchaser(s) name.
If the vehicle was last registered out of state, we will also need the following:
* Texas inspection certificate (Form VI-30)
* Public Scale ticket showing empty weight (if registering a truck or trailer)
Additional paperwork that may be needed and signed by the purchaser:
* Farm truck/farm trailer affidavit (Form 52-A)
* Travel trailer verification (Form 141)
* Power of Attorney (Form 271), if signing on behalf of another individual
All titles must be transferred within 20 working days of the actual purchase date to avoid penalties.
We encourage all individuals to call our office before submitting paper work on title transfers.
